| | Property Description | Maison Doiseau is a lovely 18th century french winemakers farmhouse has been restored to provide a comfortable character cottage, with original beamed ceilings and large open fireplace. We have created 2 double bedrooms (one with additional single bed) and this year a luxury bathroom under the eaves of the original 'grenier' or grain loft . We also provide a folding bed (or two) and cot and high chair. There is an upstairs bathroom and a newly refurbished large ground floor bshower room equipped with shower, bidet, basin and toilet. We have a friendly, family kitchen diner with large oak table and lovely fitted gourmet kitchen equipped for keen cooks with six burner electric SMEG hob and NEFF double oven and microwave - local markets and shops provide a very good selection of fresh produce - also two sinks, fridge freezer, dish washer and washing machine. The large sitting room has a large open log fire, settee and chairs, television, video and radio/stereo with cassette/CD player. | | Property Location | The cottage is one of three set in an enclosed large orchard garden in the hamlet of Vrigny within walking distance of the Touraine vineyards only a mile from the famous Chateau de Chenonceau in the beautiful Loire Valley, and situated in a quiet spot in a village amid the vineyards. We are also within walking distance of both St Georges sur Cher and Franceuil; both villages have a supermarket, post office, baker and bar.Vrigny is east of Tours and south of Blois in the Cher Valley near Chateau de Chenonceau and the lovely Loire Valley Chateau providing so much to see and do. We also have first class restaurants nearby and literally hundreds of viticulteurs (wine makers) who will welcome you and give you the opportunity to taste their produce. We are near the Vouvray, Chinon, Saumur and Bourgeuil vineyards and only 2 hours from Sancerre and Pouilly. |
