Downstairs - a large L shaped, bright and attractive living and dining area. Beamed ceilings, a fireplace with wood burner, tiled floors and rustic charm provide a comfortable place to relax with lots of spacious seating. A bar counter separates the fully equipped new kitchen (with microwave and dishwasher) from the dining area so you can still socialise while preparing meals. There is also a downstairs WC and laundry room.

Outside - doors open on to a large, semi-shaded terrace, ideal for afternoon sunbathing as well as drinks and dinner in the evening sun. A few paces across the small garden and through a wooden security fence with gate there is an 8.40 x 7.30 metre (25 x 22 ft) hexagonal swimming pool with an attractive wooden surround. (Pool usually in service from mid June until mid September). The adjoining pool terrace is ideally situated to enjoy breakfast in the sun. A large paddling pool is also available for young children.

Upstairs - 3 bright bedrooms accommodate a max of 6 people in a high degree of comfort. There is a large double bedroom with ensuite shower room & WC, one very spacious twin and a smaller fun bunk bedroom for children. There is also a family bathroom with WC.

Les Esquilhots is available all year round and provides a cosy heated home in cooler months. You will find a TV and DVD player, BBC freeview digital channels, magazines, books, children´s toys, board games, badminton, bats and balls. There is also broadband internet access available. In an adjoining barn there is ping pong and table football. Maps, guide books and tourist information is provided and the discrete owners are available next door to help if required but not to intrude.

Situated on the borders of the rural region known as Gascony which is often heralded as 'deep France' you will find almost deserted roads which take you across wonderful open rolling countryside of sunflowers, maize and fruit orchards. The region is full of picturesque medieval fortified towns (bastides), colourful markets and local restaurants where you can sample the cuisine of the south west, famous for its duck specialities. The Canal du Midi runs nearby.

Les Esquilhots, located in the valley of the Garonne River, is an excellent base from which to explore the area - east to Albi, with its magnificent cathedral and the Toulouse Lautrec museum, and Gaillac, known for its wines. North to Cahors and the Lot Valley and west to Auch, birthplace of D'Artagnan, the heart of the rural Gers and home of Armagnac. The delightful abbey town of Moissac on the River Tarn is 20 mins away, the cobbled streets of Montauban are 25 mins and Toulouse is one hour's drive. For children there is the Agen waterpark ´Walibi´, Toulouse´s Space City, animal parks and natural swimming lakes with´beaches´. Summer festivals abound and hardly a GB plate to be found.

Les Esquilhots is near the village of Garganvillar which has a boulangerie and is only 5 mins from a small supermarket, 12 mins from the weekly market town of Castelsarrasin for all shopping and 15 mins from the A62 Bordeaux/Toulouse autoroute.
